Delphyr Receives Funding from INH

The Amsterdam-based startup Delphyr has secured a convertible loan of €275,000 from Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland. This financial support will enable Delphyr to accelerate the development and validation of the Clinical Co-Pilot, a virtual assistant for doctors and nurses in hospitals. The tool facilitates quick, accurate, and secure retrieval of patient data from various systems, helping healthcare professionals make better-informed decisions.

Currently, doctors and nurses spend significant time retrieving essential patient information. Michel Abdel Malek, CEO of Delphyr and an anesthesiologist, has experienced these challenges firsthand. Relevant information often comes from various unstructured data sources.

With the Clinical Co-Pilot, Delphyr can reduce the administrative burden and the time healthcare professionals spend searching through patient records by up to 90%. Using artificial intelligence, including large language models that can interpret clinical information, the Clinical Co-Pilot simplifies the retrieval of necessary data with just a few clicks. The tool can also generate summaries, display updated medical guidelines, and provide information about new medications, facilitating clinical decision-making.

The system is designed for seamless integration into existing hospital information systems. This allows healthcare professionals to make more efficient and informed decisions while dedicating more time to patient care. Thanks to the support from Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland, Delphyr can move to the next phases of development and validation by testing the Clinical Co-Pilot across various hospital departments. This brings the company closer to launching a solution that reduces healthcare professionals' workload and improves the quality of care.

Michel Abdel Malek, anesthesiologist and founder of Delphyr, stated:
"Thanks to the support from Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland, Delphyr can further refine and test our technology in clinical environments. This accelerates the journey toward bringing the Clinical Co-Pilot to market. We are convinced that the Clinical Co-Pilot will significantly impact the daily practice of healthcare professionals and patients. It will substantially reduce healthcare professionals' workload and improve the quality of care. We are proud and grateful that Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland recognizes and supports this."

Ludolf Stavenga, Fund Manager at Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland, added:
"Healthcare is a domain where AI and large language models are expected to play a major role. Delphyr can integrate existing information sources and offer operational and decision support, leading to improved patient care. This data-driven approach has great potential to be widely applicable across many areas of healthcare, which is why we are pleased to support this initiative."
