We're excited to introduce Delphyr M1, the best-in-class medical model built for the real world
For physicians, patient admin takes a heavy toll. It consumes 20-30 hours of their week; they’re burnt out. And patient waiting lists are still getting longer.
This is the reason we created Delphyr: a medical AI assistant to help physicians automate administrative work, validate clinical decision-making & improve patient outcomes. It runs on our M1 model, a new kind of clinical AI.
It’s powerful, private, and practical. With 7 billion parameters, its ability to understand and process medical information quickly and efficiently is extremely sophisticated.
The Dutch language is supported natively, allowing for deeper linguistic nuance, context and understanding. And unlike large, cloud-dependent models - which also raise concerns for patient data privacy & security - Delphyr M1 runs on modest hardware. It consumes only a fraction of the resources of many other AI models, with patient data remaining within Europe at all times.
Delivering real-world results
Delphyr M1 matches or exceeds the performance of other models across medical QA benchmarks like PubMedQA (76,8%), MedMCQA (62,5%), and MedQA (64,7%). This means it has demonstrated a strong ability to understand and answer medical questions when evaluated on standard medical knowledge tests. Delphyr M1 beats models in the same class on these metrics and is therefor best-in-class.

Beyond benchmark assessments, Delphyr M1 is already demonstrating tangible value within operational hospital environments through several key applications:
Faster patient record review: Clinicians can rapidly access concise summaries of extensive patient histories, enabling more efficient information retrieval and enhanced preparedness for patient encounters.
Improved multidisciplinary team collaboration: Delphyr M1 can provide relevant insights and contextual information during multidisciplinary team meetings (MDOs), fostering more comprehensive and data-informed collaborative discussions.
Quicker clinical documentation: The administrative burden on physicians is being reduced through Delphyr M1’s ability to generate draft clinical notes in real time, allowing for greater focus on direct patient care.
Better access to medical knowledge: The retrieval of critical patient data and relevant medical research is significantly enhanced through Delphyr M1’s intelligent search platform, providing timely access to essential information at the point of care.
Developed specifically for European healthcare systems, Delphyr M1 is designed for multilingual environments, prioritizes robust data security measures, and is committed to delivering reliable and safe outputs to support clinical decision pathways.
Its sophisticated instruction tuning (guidance on how to behave and respond) and its safety alignment protocols ensure it provides trustworthy and contextually appropriate responses, rather than the generic or potentially unreliable information other models may provide.
Looking ahead
Delphyr M1 is just the beginning. We're expanding the model family with different sizes and capabilities. Future iterations will offer:
Specialized AI Models: Models will be optimized for specific medical tasks, ranging from simple textual tasks for processes to advanced diagnostic support, ensuring optimal performance for targeted clinical applications.
Enhanced longitudinal data analysis: Expanding its capacity to analyze comprehensive patient histories, future versions will provide more holistic insights, leading to improved continuity of care and more personalized medical understanding.
Integrated multimodal data processing: Incorporating the analysis of diverse data
formats, including medical images and textual records, will unlock new possibilities for comprehensive diagnostic and prognostic capabilities.Expanded language accessibility: Continued development of language support will further enhance accessibility and utility across the diverse linguistic landscape of European healthcare and beyond.
So whether you're a hospital, research institution, or healthcare innovator, we’d love to partner with you.
